i do. i love the viggens. i used fix em, and tbh, the build quality is very very good. there main issues were the vauxhall shared electrics on the later can bus models.

Who's arsed if it shares it electrics with a Sherman Tank?

As long as they work they do the job. Vectra's are not known for electric problems are they not?

UEC and REC are common failures. but theres 1000's on roads.

my old man has the 1.9 twin turbo diesel aero model loads of torque nice car to drive and looks good! Not a big fan of the dash though...

Both my old man (9000) and brother (95 Estate) have owned saabs and i think they are pretty good cars - look ok, drive fairly well for a big car, built like tanks and will last if looked after. But both of them had their fair share of problems with them (MFD displays going, suspension failing etc) and it has cost them a pretty penny, although using a saab specialist garage and ordering parts from abroad can save you a fair amount.

I do like the look and sound of the Saab Turbo X though

My saab was very reliable, bar the bulkhead detaching from the rest of the car.

Seriously though, the old ones anyway were good, new ones aren't much different from a vectra and vectras aren't exactly unreliable.

OK cars, comfy, refined, but not the best quality, and quite boring to drive. Not very much feedback from the stearing.

But a good relaxed comfy car that car do mega miles...

PS, saabs ARE reliable. Not a single issue he had.

My brother had a 9-3 ttid on lease for 6 months last year, I thought it was lovely, drove well and looked good. I like that grey convertible too, lovely looking.

saab = gm = same issue as vaux, there not built any better or anything

people are getting confused with pre gm saabs and transfering over built like tanks etc etc to the new models

My old man has one of those too, apart from its the estate. Looks smart, pulls like an absolute train and is comfy as anything.

I work at a Saab dealer. I have to admit that we do have a fair few problems but mainly with the 1.9 diesel lumps. You'll have next to no problems with the petrol though. Main things to look out for are coil springs really. Anything else that goes on them is just wear and tear like on any other car really. Little useless fact... 93 convertibles have the fastest folding roof out of any production car on the road!
