I'm not sure what to believe tbh. I've never read in depth about any of it! I believe that there is life outside of earth.
Either way.... Good thread

Such a good read!
Does make you wish you were 'in the know'
A lot of experiments and rumours that sound interesting date back a long time ago to, so imagine what kind of experiments are going on today.
Its sad that we will NEVER know

people will wave a story out of anything... 'ancient ruins on the moon ffs'
- the reality is, there may be aliens... infact there is most likely... but to beleive they'll be anything like us is a bit stupid.
Technically a bit of bacteria or a worm on mars is 'life'... doesn't mean they're coming here to visit us.
Most ufo's (balls of light dancing in sky / space etc) are prob just some form of creature / phonomenom which we have not yet discovered / can explain properly yet.
I'm fairly sure they're not 'aliens' as in the film style - coming down in ufo's to see us...

Do you think the amount of scopes we have really covers the entire night sky...
It is ALL the way around us in every direction remember.....

plus... life adapts to its environment...
so a creature that could survive on say mercury in extreme heat, could not necisarily survive here etc.
We believe all life will be like us, breathe oxygen, have arms and legs etc. Technically it could be able to live in the vacumn of space, using the sun as the only energy source. etc
you just dont know.

"The doomsday theory has sprung from a Western idea, not a Mayan. Mayans insist that the world will not end in 2012. The Mayans had a talent for astronomy, and enthusiasts have found a series of astronomical alignments they say coincide in 2012, including one that happens roughly only once every 25,800 years. Once every 25,800 years, the sun lines up with the center of our Milky Way galaxy on a winter solstice, the sun's lowest point in the horizon. The next time that will happen is on December 21, 2012; which happens to be the same day the Mayan calender expires. In addition to the Mayan calendar, the modern doomsday myth is bolstered several ostensibly scientific reasons for a disaster. Examples include a pole shift, the "return" of Planet X or the Sun's sinister counterpart Nemesis, a galactic, planetary, or other celestial alignment, global warming, global cooling, a massive solar flare, a new ice age, and so on. None of these have any basis in respected science. For example, the "galactic alignment" between the sun, Earth, and galactic center happens every December. The best alignment was reached in the 1990s and was accompanied by its own set of doomsday theories. Alignments since then have been increasingly poor"
