I was thinking of running 16s with 195/45 tyres on my 'B' (Currently 1.2 8v.)
A guy im sourcing a bodykit from said it would look out of place unless i ran something like 19s with 215 somethings with the new arches.
Lifted up one of my mates 17x7.5s with 205/40s and man it was heavy, so ive gone off the idea of mammoth wheels because of practicality issues due to it being a daily drive and i live in the countryside with unfriendly roads
Ideas?

What bloody bodykit are you getting? And do you want to drive the car, or use it as a giant paperweight? Only saying, as I don't think the 1.2 8v will actually be able to turn a set of 19's, they'll be stupidly heavy

Its a Velocity item an the 19s were his suggestion.
What i want to know is, how would a set of 16s with 195/45s go?
People over here usually run 15s on their barinas, but thats the only mod they do. Im going a little further to be different
See where im going with this?

If you had 19" wheels then to keep the same rolling radius you'd have to have no tyres, which isn't very practical.
195/45/16 will work fine.
The general opinion on this site will be "think less about how the wheels will look with the kit and more about how hideous the kit is".

I like different "IvIarkgraham". Why do you think i started this project instead of buying a jap import already modded and taking credit for it? Or just buying a commodore? (There are loads of each where i live) If we all did the same thing, life would be boring. Im going for what i think is an Australian first.
"Daveskater", things vary from country to country id say. People here try to tell me that my car is completely standard apart from a cannon because it looks no different on the outside. Instead choosing to mouth off before they look at my interior or even ask whats been done, so thats where my idea of a kit came from hideous or not. Factory Gsi parts simply wont cut it

Fair enough I suppose, can you not get Irmscher kits over there?
