Girlfriends birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks and she wants a small compact camera thats easy to carry around as her SLR is too big to carry around all the time, but im clueless on cameras

so dont have a clue what to look for. i recommended a decent camera phone but she said no. s any recommendations?

My girlfriend got one of these for her birthday, it seems pretty good 12mp, face detection etc etc
