--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I've been skulking around on here for a while, so I thought it was time for a project thread.
I got the car about a year ago, complete with broken air flow meter and a nice protective layer of algae at least it didn't have any rust It was a 1.0 trip until a couple of weeks ago when it had a 2.0 fitted.
Here it is when I first got it:

Then I got some 14" steelies and painted them white, and started smoothing the bumpers

Finished off the bumpers and painted them satin black, lowered the rear 60mm and drove around with the front standard height for a couple of weeks because I was stumped by building up the front coilovers

Finally got the fronts sorted and stuck on a bent and scratched badboy bonnet because it only cost a tenner. I'd like it white, but it's scratched to **** and I cant be arsed to sand it flat so the checkers are hiding my laziness I took the vauxhall badge out of the V grill at some point as well, can't remember when...

With my old SJ

Got some alloys off samhomepc (et35 with 195's is a b**** hence the high fronts)

Did a spot of colour coding. It's not the best job, but it'll do til I can get it done properly.
Also had an argument with a Passat, so the wing mirror is taped on

Now for the good bit: 2.0 engine out of a calibra. It was putting out 159 bhp in the calibra according to rolling road printout. Had the engine fitted by MCD Vauxhall in Halifax, I'd recommend them for anyone wanting a conversion done.

Fail-zorst. That's what happens when you say 'Just get a second hand exhaust system' I'd like to say it's growing on me, but it's not

Stopped for some pics on the way home, because the landscape is awesome up there.

So thats it up to this point, I've got a fully smooth pre '97 bumper ready to go on that I've been working on while the car was having it's conversion and some Calibra leathers ready to fit when I've got some time. I'm planning on changing the alloys to some mk3 astra CDX ones when I've painted them because the ones on it now scrub all the time

comments welcome

I've got a new bumper ready to go on, I was just playing with that bumper to see what would happen The lights have got film on them because it's cheaper than depo's
Yeah the bonnet is a bit rat, I'm putting the white one back on when I've got time.

Little update : Finally put my calibra leathers in, they've only been in the garage 3 months
I know the driver's seat is ripped, but they were cheap Ignore the back seats, they're just Halfords fake leather covers and I cba to put them on properly yet so they're just tucked in to cover up the rainbow seats.

Half done:

Finished:

and my smooth bumper just finished painting:

I laquered it to make it easier to clean the flies and stuff off and I think it might be a bit too shiny now! Should be fitting it tomorrow if it's not raining when I get home.

I know lol I'm putting the white bonnet back on when I can rope someone into giving me a hand. Should look much smarter with that and the new bumper.

Yeah alrite didn't cost me much more tbf! Just to warn you, it has to be fitted slightly wonky (as in the pics, not really noticeable) as its a bit bent and if you fit it so it looks straight, it won't open and the washer jet holes have been smoothed over.

Oh and I've been rolling in this for the last few days

318i.... it's well slow and averages 15mpg, but I was loving the rwd in the wet
My cars been at the garage because it had a coolant leak I couldn't locate, so the mechanic very kindly lent me his 'courtesy car' ^ thats after I gave it a t-cut because the poor thing never gets cleaned... and rolling in a dirty white car just isn't my style
