When my music is turned up quite loud the headlights start dimming to the beat of the music. What causes this and is there a cheapish way around it?
I have a Corsa C 1.2 Sxi. I'm running:
Pioneer 7400mp head unit
standard components up front(for now)
pioneer 6x9 in rear shelf
JBL Power Series 12" sub 400 RMS
Alpine 757 amp.
Halfords Corsa 1.7 Dti calcium battery.
My power cable is only 8 guage, would a thicker cable help?

Dont think thicker cable would help. As the Bass beats, it's pulling more power from your battery to power your subs, and this can be seen by your headlights dimming. Cap should sort this out, I think.

cap will make cain the battery more by taking more power from the battery and then storing it for each deep note. I c u've uprated the battery but obviously its not big enough. Mayb u should of gone for a bigger 1, i have a vectra 1 now and there is no blinking. Other ppl have gone bigger by using a frontera batt. Also a bigger rated alternator would help but expensive

you should get a volt measurer. Slap it on your amp power calbe and play a cD. When your lights dim check to see if your amp is loosing voltage. If its not or only loosing a small amount then dont worry about it.

power cap is the only answer not only does it sort power but discarges a lot quicker than a battery can.

Yep a CAP will definalty sort it but not 100%. Upgrade ur battery as well, I went along to my local car parts place and they sorted me out with a German make battery thats 5 times more power than the std one and that came with a 3 year warrenty for £39.99. That sorted the problem out 100% but now I need a bigger alt but it's not essential.
