When i did my punto, i ran a live to the fuel pump and put a hose on the fuel line (inside engine bay) so all the fuel was pumped into container.
Worked a treat! and there was no mess.

The twiggy way.
Put your car on axle stands, make it fall off and let the stand peirce through the tank

Drill if you aren't using it again!
Johnhara1 has gave the best option though, and it's very easy.
