As title, the Corsa's started developing a massive misfire every now and again. I'll be driving along, stop at a set of lights or something then when I go to pull off it misses like crazy - so much that I can't rev it past 2k and it doesn't get me up to any speed. It hunts when on idle when it's doing it as well. I was under the bonnet the other day trying to rev it with the throttle when it was missing, it was as if it was 'building pressure' and then actually 'backfiring' out the induction kit... There's a noise like a rattling coming from the front of the rocker cover that sounds maybe as if it's arking, but by the time I get it home to have a look at it it's stopped doing it. It only does all this when it's heated up more than 90deg.
I know that's a bit long winded, but I've tried to be as detailed as possible. Has anyone had any similair problems? If so, what cured it? Cheers.

Check Plugs, Leads and the Dizzy Cap\Arm for the miss fire.
Is the EML on, if it isn't wired up get that done and flash the codes out. It'll make life alot easier for you.

Cheers for the reply mate. The EML does come on, but I was under the impression that to take the codes the light had to be on at the time... It only ever comes on when driving on the motorway or similair type of speed. Could I still read the codes with the EML off?

If the light has come on then there should be codes stored so they should still show up.
Another cause for that misfire could be a fooked AFM or even lambda

Ah right, cheers.
I was thinking AFM when it started hunting tbh. But I've thought it couldn't be that due to the fact it's fine 95% of the time.
I'll have a look and see if I can get the codes out it then, cheers for replies.

That's what I'd have thought mate, trouble is I got a brand new one just a few months ago. I'm thinking there's a chance it could maybe to do with the air temp sensor - what are the symptoms of it failing?

Aye mate, that's the kind of thing I'm going to start with. Going to have a look at it later on today, I'll report back if I find anything.
