ive got an .mpeg file which is 800mb, i need to put it on cd (700mb) so is there anyway i can compress it down or split it into two smaller files?

i tried winzip but that wouldn't compress it enough, ideally id like to split it so i can watch the film off the cd.

Well if you try and make a VCD out of it then it should be just under 700MB.

Other than that you need a program called Easy Video splitter from HERE

troied makin a vcd with roxio easy cd creator 5 but that just said file was too big for cd, tryin it with nero now and its wrote half the disc so should be ok. so will nero compress the file then or just carry on onto another cd?

It should tell you when you start making it, VCD compresses the files so they are a bit smaller.
