anyreason ? as iirc the Nat Hot rods use a generic spaceframe for all cars that seems to cope fiine ?

In the engineering world its called single shear, which is not liked.
People think the weight is in the wishbones but all the weight on that wheel is on that one area.

again, its a nat hot rod, i very much doubt you get 15mm of suspension movement to stress that joint in the first place

See if it had 2 brackets coming down either side of where the bolt goes through, that would be better as the weight would be in compression and not bending and in double shear....which also bending is a no no as well.

i cant out argue you in a technical sense, but the spaceframes of the same have been about for years in racing
