1.4 8valve.
Erm, I wouldn't say it's necessary...but it's probably healthy to put them back into the ones they came from because they will have 'adapted' or worn...to the particular environment. I may be talking bollocks but I think it's important to get them back in the right ones.
basically...seeing as you forgot them and you're fucked anyway, just slot them in and try it. that's pretty much all you can do now

I would fit new rings at this stage and hone the block if I was you.

Measure the pistons (with a proper caliper guage, not a ruler!) if they are all the same size you'll be fine..
If you have messed up the order then new rings and a hone is a must really.
Why did you take the pistons out?
