His key is.

It's in an envelope with the address where the car is kept

No, seriously though. I doubt he ever had the key, you were fobbed off.

When I bought mine I asked if it had a full set of keys, yes was the reply.

Pick it up & the plastic master? key was missing.

Couldnt be bothered asking about it so I just drove off & forgot about it....until reading this post!!

I had the very same problem when i bought the VXR, got sick of being fobbed off and went down one saturday i was off and made it clear i wasnt leaving till it was sorted, and if other customers were there they would get to know the full extent of my issues with the service

took about an hour or two then it was arranged for me to get a new key and the old keys to be wiped out of the system

update

Key arrived this morning!!! I kept on at him, gave him a bit of slack due to the conditions down south, he also said he couldn't get out his village when it snowed, but rang him again yesterday and he sent it out
So I now have remote central locking! (only 2months since I bought the car )

At least you've got it sorted now - bloke(s) you dealt with sound like toss pots though.
