I was reading in some newspaper they recon its 60B Barrel producer, to take it into context the Forties is/was the North Seas biggest Producer at 5B Barrel. So it could be massive!!

Im a Tiffy, hopefully moving into OP's, though its looking less of a promise as theres mass cutbacks just now. Not sure how I feel about working abroad, im liking the 2-2-2-4 rota im on now.

Yeah it was the best place I travelled to... Loved the atmosphere there...

Go to Hanoi... and enjoy having to cross the road... (In seriousness, there is a trick... which is to ignore all bikes flying at you and just cross... don't wait for a gap and dont stop at any point... the bikes will dodge around you).

ha long bay is lovely.

i dont think i would like a rota, constantly counting down the day, mind you i never know how long i am away for, and can get a shout whenever , the second trip to south africa, after being there for 6 weeks, was home for 9 days, then away for 2 month, home for over a month, away for 2 weeks in the north sea, home for a month or so,then singapore for a month.

I was out there for 6 weeks mate. Loved the place, really did. People are great too. Its a shame the yanks went out there and royally fucked things up for no real reason and got their asses kicked.

The weathers not too bad, although ive yet to experience it bad, last few months the weather 150 miles offshores been better then it has onshore!!

I maintain everything associated with Pressure, Flow, Level, Temp control required for operating the platform from SSSV operation through product seperation and finally export, as well as work on HVAC & fire and gas systems, basically everything from field device through to localised indication & central TDC & panels etc.

Meant to be going into OP's soon though so i'll be running things 1st as an area tech then working my way into the control room then hopefully into some senior position.

Plenty nuggets on the oil field

I only work with the hydraulic package on the sssv's, changing out leaking drawers mostly. Wells its either a gubbed transmitter pot or a siezed choke. Half the time im just doing F&G routines so a move into ops is what I want. Control room operator - splendid
