in my search for a new car i think ive turned gay because i quite fancy a bmw z3. it would most likely be the 2.8 as i dont think i could run a z3m or 3.0 insurance wise etc. still do 0-60 in 6.7 secs so will be just as quick as the golf tbh, just possibley more fun? i know theres some one on here with the z3m so any input would be good

lol i love the looks, could easily be kitted up a bit with some "m" parts etc to toughen it up.

id imagine they arent tear your face off quick but 6.7 to sixty is easily fast enough for the road

2.8 should be quick enough but i would really look for a 3.0 as its the same lump as the e46 330ci so your looking at an extra 40-50bhp, plus they are alot newer and tend to have all the mod cons and look abit nicer aswell.

z3m is an absolute weapon though, dont care what anyone says about looks it doesnt matter when you have 321bhp in a 2 seater roadster. ive heard nothing but good things about the z3m on pistonheads and many people said since they got rid of theres they miss them and cant think of a better 2 seater for the money for everyday use

I dont know how a convertible with no traction control and 321 bhp can be called gay tbh.

Stick with the 3 ltr stright 6 not much difference in the insurance stakes neither

I'd quite happily drive a Z3, but it has to have 6 cylinders

ive driven the 2.8 version, driving position was wierd, the pedals are not infront of the driver but offset to the right

the 2.8 is a six cylender and the insurance and extra cost just isnt worth it on a 3.0

loved mine, absoloute hoot. great chassis.

interior is really cosy and very comfy. driving position is odd as you sit very low down and everything is high up. its great though.

only downside is build quality isnt that of usual bmws due to it being built in usa, but i didnt think it was that bad.

noisy as fuck on the Mway tho!
