Selling my girlfriends Louis Vuitton stuff on eBay to get her out of debt.

Her purse sold for £80 Buy It Now. It costed a couple of quid to post because they had picture galleries etc on a deal. Except the final value fee is £7.99

Last time I sold something I swear it wasn't that much. Dread to think what the final value fee for her bag will be once it sells for over the hoped reserve of £250

Anybody else experienced stupid fees lately?

It's now something silly like 15% to list and sell something and receive money by paypal which is a fucking farce

Whenever i list something now i always hope to sell outside of ebay because that's the only way it's worth it

So that is why they continue the Buy It Now whilst the auction is running.

When you used to run an item with Buy It Now & standard auction, they used to scrap the Buy It Now when someone bidded, even if it was only £0.01. Now they let the Buy It Now run.

Good idea though to keep any eye on an item if you're a buyer and if it goes above the Buy It Now, quickly Buy It Now

One of the reasons I gave up selling things on there, Will only buy off there now after shopping around as there are better deals to be had out there.

great way of selling a car, last time i called the guy and asked do you mind if i put we mutually agreed not to continue with this transaction he said no probs

I got £20 back in fee's we both left each other good feedback and anyone on the outside would never have known

on the other hand they are robbing bastids all that money you pay you'd expect top class secure service which is something neither ebay or paypal offer in anyway

I just sold my DS through auction for £79 and was charged £8.50ish in fees. That'll be 10% them final value.

I expect it to be proportional to the service, which it's nowhere close to being.

The sole reason ebay get away with charging so much is because it's so big, they won't hold that forever and the prices will drop quick enough.

most auction houses typically charge between 10-20% commission, i wouldnt hold my breath for them to lower fees.

It's shocking if anything at all goes wrong, especially if you are a seller.

What's more, the bag hasn't sold.

I have tried relisting, as you do, and they won't allow me to for another 30 days, because of the type of product i.e. could be selling fake Louis Vuitton bags.

They wouldn't even allow me to add postage to her purse. Apparently it had to be free.

I just got the winning bidder to wait before paying and I invoiced them.

I think eBay's always charged 10% for a while now.

PayPal fees differ due to account and payment type etc. etc.

That's why a lot of categories now require you to offer free P&P.
