Just went to look at one and the bloke says there the same as the corsa engines but the inlet looks the different and the engine code is x16xel

Will it be the same as the x16xe? because im using the x16xe ecu and wiring

think theyve got a different inlet and produce less power but more torque but i may be wrong?

Yep differnt inlet and head has smaller ports in.


Corsa sport 1.6 bottom end with a 1.4 head on iirc x16xel or something

would the throttle body and inlet off a corsa gsi fit? and will the wiring and ecu be the same as a corsa 1.6 sport?

Yer it will all fit on the block as externally its the same as long as its a small block engine.


Just the preformance will differ due to the smaller ports in the head slightly

if its an x16xel i think they have diff pistons?

lower compresion

sports are 105? will there be a noticeable difference between my corsa with this engine in and a sport?

mid range might be slower and more mpg unsure what acceleration will be like though. might be slower, might be faster. i really couldnt say. an astra is slower than a corsa, so thats something to think about.

An astra weighs more though plus im changing the inlet for a corsa gsi inlet

would changing the inlet in the astra not make the astra as quick as the corsa? id keep the astra tbh.

the engines fit the same as the 1.4 got one in mine use the the astra air intake pipe gives you more room behind the block

So I'll be able to use the astra engine with a corsa loom and ecu? Need to know because I'm going to leave a deposit tomorrow
