My xbox has broke...AGAIN
Gonna buy an ellite I think but quick question first.
Ill have a new bigger HD so will I be able to transfer all my saved items and game files / saves using a memory card? Then recover my GT and download car packs on forza and map packs on other games again for no cost?
Some of the games take up like 6gb + on my HD iirc so just wanted to check.

it doesnt cost anything to get it fixed. Its worth upgrading to the Elite but i would still send your 20gb off for repair and just flog it when it comes back.

yea but you also get a wheel, forza3, sonic olympics, a mic.
forza 3 is £40
Steering Wheel is £30
Mic was £5
and the xbox has been used (and im not kidding) 3 times, its just over 1 month old and still have the receipt and everything to prove when i bought it etc, so i think its worth £150.

forza 3 is not worth £30...can get it much cheaper if you looked enough
Steering wheel? ...I'd give a tenner, given that I wouldn't use it.
Mic...You get one with it...Well; I did with mine.

No because I know a mate who fixes RROD for 15 quid, dont ask me how, he fixed mine and it has been good since.

If it happens more than once to you, you are very unlucky.
It's happened once to me, and hasn't happened since to it.
There are now 3 xbox'es here; and my PS3 is being sent off to its new owner tomorrow morning.
I like the 360; despite the risk of it dying spontaneously. It's like anything you buy. You could buy a dog; what's to stop it dying?
Fuck all. It will die sometime. Besides; 360 RROD fix is free AFAIK.

Happened to me 3 times, I dont care though, its worth it, every time it happens (about once a year) I get a new xbox and another month of online play for free
And apparently you can just plug the HD into a SATA port on your PC, although I havent even bothered to look at the connection to see if its the right size, and I read it somewhere on tinternet so its probably bollocks

You can plug them into your PC, either via the USB transfer kit or taking it out of the casing and plugging it into a SATA port - they're 2.5" SATA drives inside.

So using the 'theory of bodge' could you just copy the contents onto a bigger drive, reinsert it into the casing and have an upgraded HDD?
