My mate got screwed over after a accident on private land, kid admitted it (verbally) when he got the work done he wouldn't pay up and did a runner (it was a shared drive way and this kid was living with his auntie temporary.) THe police didn't want to know when my mate tried reporting it. So basically don't admit liability and there is nothing the other party can do. Shocking imo.
