Getting really pissed off with my router now, it keeps saying im either too far away from it or low wireless signal even if im right next to it so i cant connect to it wirelessly upstairs now, can anyone shed any light for me

Funnily enough I've just helped my uncle out with exactly the same symptoms.
Clear out all saved/preferred connections and (temporarily) disable all wireless security on the router - then see how it compares.
Then look at re-enabling WEP/WPA/Whatever.
That seemed to fix it for my uncle, see how you get on.

Yeah i tried this already, theres now no security on it at all. But the weird thing is only my brothers pc which is upstairs can connect

It's not an Orange or Talk-Talk issued router is it?
My GF's parents had a problem connecting to theirs because it's got some stupid 'pairing mode' that you need to activate before trying a first time connection.
sorry, not much help - I hate wireless and have got ethernet cables run all around my house for that exact reason

Yup wireless sucks.
Nope its a sky one, probably the same, ill just log into the website again and see if i can figure anything out.

Is the aerial done up tightly enough?
Had this problem with ours, spent ages dicking about with settings only to discover the aerial was loose.
