I used it at uni for about 30 mins. Hated it. Dont like the way it groups similar open programs (i.e. all IE Browers, all msn convos) into a single icon on the taskbar.

Change it to the way you want it to work then.

it took me about a day to decide that i like it and actually prefer it to XP. give it time. As John says there are lots of things you can change to personalize it.

Cant on the uni computers, its all locked. I just dont see why i should have to. What was wrong with the old way its been for countless years. I dont want to have to click twice to open back up a browser window when before i would click once. Or have to right click and select new IE window, when before it was click on the IE icon.

I don't like the new way either, takes 2 seconds to change though.
Why do we have internal combustion engines instead of steam, and why didn't we just stick at windows 3.1.
They have researched (or maybe made it up) that this is the way people want to do things, for the majority of people it may very well be more productive.

I've got it, and I've set the toolbar so that it's the same as Vista. I like the themes, I enjoy getting a different picture of the UK countryside every few mins

I've got it to switch to grouping when the toolbar gets full though, that's useful. I didn't like the way it was previously handled with a list.

As ed said, group when toolbar is full - apart from that I haven't changed anything.
Couldn't be doing with XP as it's almost ancient now - 7 is brilliant (especially as it was free from University!)

XP is awful to use now. I have it on my work PC and it drives me nuts!
