they are illegal to use on the road. can get them off ebay though for show use only.

get an old numer plate and try it, very easy to do but dont look as good as a proper one as you can tell easily..

Get to a small workshop and use a powered Bandsaw.

I used one at work to trim some nice shiny new ones down, came out alright, and did the same on my old Cav's front one too;
