You mean for your dad, after all it will be his policy. Get all your dads details and run a quote through www.elephant.co.uk, pretty quick and straight forward to get an online quote of them.

Adrian flux and Greenlight will laugh their arses off at you, I had trouble getting a quote on a 106 Gti when i was 21 let alone 19 with 0 no claims.

Insurance companies are wiseing up to people getting policies in their parents names then being the main driver instead of their parents. You wont be fooling the decent performance/specialist insurers out there.

I would go with someone a bit more mainstream and less specialist like Tesco or norwich union, or AA insurance brokers?

If your getting the car in your Dad's name and he has full NCB(10 years+) it is gonna cost very little. I quickly got a quote for just my dad on a 106gti which was £300.
When I was put on my parents 1.9 405td it cost an extra £250.
This was all with Endsleigh insurance.

i got a quote from the aa in my own name on a vts and it was £8000

im guessin that a gti will be more or less the same in my own name, so have got no other option than to go on me dads, plus if he's the main driver then he sed he'll pay cos he'll use the car when im at uni
