Hi all, I have a Corsa Sport X16XE, I want to take the EGR Valve off it but heard of someone you have to weld the manifold up when you take it off. Does anyone know how to take off or even block it off without having to weld it???
Cheers lads...
Also what does 'bump' mean on here?

You can buy a blanking plate from Vauxhall for the EGR No welding needed

I believe you have the EGR and SAI mixed up.
Are you looking to remove the pump and mushroom looking thing off the exhaust manifold?

Yea that's not your EGR its your secondary air injection (SAI) it is used to heat the CAT up quicker for MOTs in Europe.
Just take it all off and make a blanking plate out of some 3-6mm aluminium for the hole left in your manifold.
Here is a pic of my blanking plate

Nice one mate. So will it be alright taking the vaccum and everything attatched? Also will it increase performance/sound???

I removed everything. But if you remove entire vacuum pipes make sure you block up where they have come from as it'll ruin the vacuum pressure for the rest of the engine systems.
And no to both. It just weighs a fair bit and looks damn awful. So removing solves those problems.

Quick question Sean, how did you attach the plate to the manifold, for the removal of the SAI?

Using the existing threaded hole and the bolt that came out of it. There is a thin metal gasket between the mushroom thingy and the manifold. I used this as a template for my blanking plate. Then I just put the metal gasket back on followed by my blank in the place the gasket was originally.
Hope that makes sense!
