Conway/aim1, did you try launching it in compatibility mode for Windows 98, or XP? That should've worked!

Is it not Abandonware? Or do bullfrog still own the rights (think it was bullfrog) If it's abandonware, search that on google and you should find it.
If you don't then there's a ton of old classic which are now abandonware you can download
Commander Keen was one of my faves.
Turns out it was microprose and doesn't look like it's abandonware

I had a little play on Theme Park the other day, was really boring, also Sim City the original, and *ahem* Sim Tower... used to love my sim games, more into murdering people in games now tho

Rollercoaster Tycoon got very boring for me. It was the same shit over and over. I'd create a mental Coaster but no cunt would go on it. So I used to end up trying to make the ratings as high as I could. Made a 300ft+ Oblivion ride once. Nobody went on it though

I had Sim Hospital for the PS1 - random decision to make that game I'm sure.
Transport Tycoon was my favourite though, and it now available for free (legal) download online
