hay peeps basicly the misses is thinking of getting a run around for her first car..

basicaly were not 100% on what to get, spec it needs to have

diesle
5 door pref an estate and bigger than a corsa
cheap to insure
1k or under
decent sized boot

found an old n reg 1.9 td pasat estate with 189k looks ok but what are they like? also what do you recon a good reliable (within reason) car would be as i'll most probably take the gls off the road to ether be stripped or sold.

1.9TD passat in estate guise is probably one of your better options tbh! You are handy with spanners anyway arent you Rich?
