lost mine while out last night. I've rung around the places it might have been left and asked friends but no results yet.
Just wondered what the best thing to do is should I wait a week and see if DVLA return it to me? (I know it gets sent straight to them if handed in at a Police station) I don't want to get it replaced if it turns up soon after. I assume I'll still be safe to drive as I have the paper part of my licence, all I need the photo part for is ID

Has anyone had to do this recently? What was the outcome?

Yes I lost mine and had to re-order one. Was something like £25 I think.

ring dvla just get it replaced (doesnt cost that much does it?)

I lost mine one night and nobody knew were it was so ordered a new one, one of my mates said it was in his house about half an hour later.

I've now got a spare for taking out wthout worrying though.

You have to replace the paper part too iirc, i lost my paper part and only way was to get replacements of both

I thought the photo part was more important than the paper part. Im not too sure where my paper part is tbh

Costs £20 if you do it over the phone, you get both parts and have to send whatver you have left back to them
