Going to Australia in March.
I'm slightly concerned as to how much data it will use while i'm over there, costing me a fortune. Obviously it connects to the internet for stuff like push notifications and e-mail.
Is there any way I can disable all of this unless it's over Wifi instead of 3G?
Thanks.

Data roaming OFF! Visual voice mail still works with data off though and you don't have a choice whether or not messages get downloaded or not.

According to the Apple website:
If Data Roaming is turned off, you can still make and receive phone calls, and send and receive text messages. Voice roaming charges may apply. Visual voicemail is delivered if there’s no charge; if your carrier charges for delivery of visual voicemail when roaming, turning Data Roaming off prevents the delivery of visual voicemail.
