what an ambiguous question, for a start in that video the defender has arb locking diffs front and rear whereas the the H1 has open diffs, but the defender driver is doing nothing to help himself with traction, if he aired down the tyres for a start he would get a lot further. The H1 has the advantage with larger tyres which gets him over the rock step the defender is stuck on
Tbh i would expect the H1 to win, its designed for offroad situations its a civilian version of the Humvee.. so what do you expect? its hardly a nissan x trail were talking about!

That defender looks to be too strongly sprung, its bouncing about all over the place and has very little articulation. It's also a lot smaller than the Hummer, hence the disadvantage in that situation.
Generally I would rather be in the Lanny. Its lighter and probably more capable in the majority of situations but there's no disputing it was made to look silly by the larger, heavier car on that hill.

i have used plenty of 4x4s off road tugging a trailor with a 4x4 or van on the trailor and landys n stuff just couldnt jo the job since then got a daihatsu fourtrak tdx and they dont flitch at any amount of snow,ice,deep sloppy mud just keep on going
