fitted my mantzel , used new gaskets conected up my vacume network acordingly to warrens guide , but i still have a leak somewhere ! it will sit at 2000 rpm then it will slowly climb to 5000 then drop back down to 2000 , realy doin my head in! anyone had this problem?

does it make a difference if you press down on top of the inlet?

no its a new gasket mate , i think its somthing to do with my vacume networks, have u fitted one of these before?

run a vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold to the rocker cover vac take off.
Cut that pipe in 3 places and insert a t-piece into each position.
Run the first vac pipe to the MAP sensor (black box an bulkhead)
Run the second vac pipe to the Fuel pressure regulator
Run the third vac pipe to the Fuel tank vent valve. And make sure the other outlet for the FTVV is connected to the small hard black pipe that runs behind the engine.

fitted a replica one before. Sometimes unmetered air gets past the inlet or throttle body gasket if the bolts arent tightened up

i think this is what iv missed whats the ftvv? and where bouts on the back of the engine?

FTVV - fuel tank vent valve. Its a black box that is on the right hand side of the engine bay. It has a blue and red plug going into it. There is an inlet and an outlet. The vac pipe goes into the inlet. The outlet will never have been disconnected from the thin hard black pipe.
also you can see it in the picture of mine, just behind the coilpack.

yeah iv got my vac pipe coming from the rocker cover t'd into the ftvv and the other hard plastic pipe is also attached ( i know its attached to the ftvv but where does it run to (take a vacume from)

The hard plastic pipe runs to the carbon canister under your drivers side front wing. It should never of been disconnected so you shouldn't need to worry about it. Can you see it on my pic?

how many vacumes should conect to the ftvv? as i have 2 curently conected but i have noticed a port on the back that has no hose on it? should there be one here?

did you change the bolt where the alternator bracket bolts on, with the earths bolted ontop of it for a shorter one?

because the manifold hits the bolt and causes it not to sil on the bottom half of the inlet therefore creating a small gap at the o/s of the mantzel
