Hi,
I am tempted to upgrade to an Xbox elite as I want a bigger hard drive and the black looks fairly cool
Whats the cheapest way of doing this? Trade in standard console and buy new elite?

Think you can get a black face plate, and sticker kit for the sides. Or buy a dead elite from ebay and swop the case over.

Be a dare devil and take yours apart. Install some different fans whilst you're at it. Will be fun.

ok, seriously.
if you buy a 120gb hard drive then you'll need your 20gb one to transfer the info over, so trading it in isn't really an option unless you don't care about the data on it.
the 120gb drive should come with a transfer kit.
if you buy a used one then it may not have one and you'll have to get this from MS for about £10
http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/support/systemuse/xbox360/console/datamigration-usingyourelite.htm
you can get software that'll let you copy the info over but it's a bit fiddly and you can lose some stuff. (i did this).

Chrome cases are like £60, i took the case of my last one and just kept it clean, it ran so much better than my current one.

Also on normal consoles you can just vac all the air holes, works just as well and saves you having to take the case off.
