Normal yellow ones that flash, if its on the other side of the road facing you and doesnt flash until you are completely level with the camera have you been caught? I may or may not have creeped above the limit when about half way through the lines.
I was always led to believe that if it flashed in your face it didnt count as its dangerous or something lol

I've been caught and convicted after being caught by a camera on the opposite side of the road.
Was the only car on the carriageway so its not like someone else set it off.

Gatso's only get you driving away from them and use Radar.
Truvelo cameras use pressure strips on the road (3 white strips) right in front of them and catch you coming towards them, they also look very different to Gatso's:

They mostly use infra-red so the flash is very subtle.
If its been more than 28 days since it happened dont worry about it.

Do they still work if the lines aren't there? Only asking because there's one near me and the lines have been covered up

will still flash as they use radar. but if there are no lines there will just be 2 photos of your car and they not be able to prove what speed you were doing as they use the distance between lines, and how many lines you have passed over in the time between the 2 photos in a calculation (speed = distance/time) to prove what speed you were doing. . . no lines, no calculation

They still work, the law used to dictate that there were two individual pieces of evidence to prove you were speeding, I dont think this is the case any more.
