Controversial maybe and provided everyone is fit, and taking in to account some current form I would go with this:

Green
Johnson Ferdinand Terry Cole
Walcott Carrick Gerrard Cole
Rooney Bent

Robinson Brown Upson Lampard Beckham Owen Crouch

Rooney will probably end up injured and not make the World Cup. As long as he plays the rest of the season for United I'm not too fussed

Johnson behind Milner = perfect right side imo.

Milner is a decent defender, hence why I think they'll be OK.

Kind of like Kuyt +Johnson. As Kuyt is good at staying back if the RB goes forward.

I bet gerrard plays 0 minutes playing off 'rooners', he'll probably be played on the left or something. I would like him to have a decent campaign but i'm not overley fussed as long as he doesn't get injured.

The likes of Gerrard and Lampard haven't really stepped up for England yet. It'd be cool if they both did it at this tournament as we've managed 1/4er's without them. So I'd like to think we'd do better than that.

Putting one of the best players on the planet out of position on the left is madness though. Get him in the middle and let him control the game.

Agreed. Gerrard in the middle, Rooney up front. Rest pretty much falls in to place.
