my c20xe corsa isnt charging what the easiest way to check if the altenator is fooked or is there any other reason why it wundnt be charging itself?? any info will help
if altenator if fooked will a 2.0 ecotec altenator fit XE? as i have 1 laying about.

When you say it isn't charging do you mean at all or under charging?
Is you XE early or late?
The early XE uses a different Alternator to late XE and XEV.
If you have a multimeter put the probes onto your battery whilst the car is running, You should be getting 13.5-14.4V.
Also try it with lights and fan on etc.

yes it is an early XE n av tested it wiv a multi meter on the batery n is only comin up wi 12v.
it turns ova wen av charged the batery n it jus dies as its tickin ova, wud u suggest changin the altenator, or checking the wiring??

So it's only running at 12V with engine running?
Has it been charging fine before or is this first time of running, Are you getting the battery light on the dash?
It does sound like the alternator is goosed so the engine is running off what's in the battery.
Have a look at the wiring to make sure there is nothing obviously wrong.

yes only running at 12v when engine is running, no light on dah tho, can i not get engine running and stick a multi-meter on the alternator and is there in nout comeing out of it means its fooked??

You could try that. There's definitely a charging probelm if you're only getting 12v back into the system.
