How is the new cat put on? I know the front bolts on to the downpipe, but how is the rear connectd does it need to be welded? how much do you think to be put on by a garage

From experience i would say fire in some Redex fuel/injector treatment and put some higher octane fuel in it and give it a good trash.
Ive done this with a few cars that have been well over the limit and guess what,they flew through the emmissions on the next test.

Higher octane? I sthat like the expensive version of unleaded? any advice on how to put cat on

Yeah something like V-power or B.P ultimate etc.
It was my MOT tester who told me this.Said that the higher octance stuff dosnt burn as high as nomal unleaded.

My mot tester always tries to get the emmission down the best he can by giving it good revs then holds it when its in the green on the comp.
