Might be cheaper just to buy a turbo mate, easier to insure etc...

Well you have a coupe astra, a turbo version can be picked up for £2.5k. Your looking at that for the conversion if done properly.

Yeah but you can't leave it as a 1.8 on the logbook

You're better off starting with a 1.0 or 1.2 as they use the same ECU..
To convert the 1.8 ideally you'll need a 1.0 or 1.2 loom to start with.

Yes..
Should be relatively easy then.
About starting witha 1.0/1.2 i think he wants to swap the engines in his Astra from a Z18 to a ZLET. Dont think he is on about a Corsa.

Yeah those pesky 5 wires that go to the throttle peddle they really are the hardest part!
If its an astra, Z20LET loom is required or lots of patience and a few hours with a soldering iron, heat shrink and TIS2000.

I know of a great Z20LET and F23 that could be yours for £1450. Can be seen running.

You would also need the Driveshafts and CV's too, if using the F23.

The loom will be a swap, but thats the point you either swap looms or its a wiring nightmare
You'll need the Z20LET mounts, downpipe, airbox, loom, ECU, key and transponder,.. etc. etc.
To be honest you're better off selling your astra and buying a 2.0 turbo.

Ideally you would need the whole donor car then tbh! That way you could get everything. Trip comp, cruise control, brakes etc. and all of the above.

pretty sure you need to change the dash loom also so it has all wiring to the accelerator pedal cos sure they is some small difference from z20let pedal and others! has 1 extra wire!
dont quote me on this, i went and changed everything when i did my conversion! i mean everything, brakes pipes, all elesctrics front to back, all fuel pipes, fuel tank! etc etc etc!

Last week I had a day of z20let wire/sensor problems all due to poor coversion now sorted, also you need a clutch switch for the turbo, its critical that the wiring is done right first time.
