been out in my brother-in-laws tigra xe and i was really suprised how quick and how much power it actualy has . i wasnt expecting it to be like it was at all , it has had a few bits done and is currently running at 165bhp . it seems to hit the big boost of power at mid-high range of the engine , are they all like that . but it is very quick compared to my 1.4 8v lol

I found that most corsa's have some form of "powerband" at 4&1/2k
My XE certainly did when I had it on the road.

Fun little cars but they will lead you on to wanting more and more power!

I'll never forget the old gentleman on a roundabout, going for a general stroll with his wife in his toyota... then you pulling up & myself asking them for a race

Agreed, He built a monster...
Forget the chaps name but he apparently ran it round "Ze Ring" and didn't bin it into any barriers. Legend

Back on topic: If you get a good XE you will enjoy every last one of the many RPM's that force your toes to the carpet.

If you get a bad one, the only carpet you will be touching is the Engineers snail trail, trying to blow him for cheaper bills!

Agreed, I've owned a LET but most of them seem to blow up or need rebuilding often.

My XE was very strong, didn't show any signs of age or mileage (118k when sold).

XE's are without a doubt one of the most reliable engines vauxhall have produced.

Wait till you try one in a light car. Not a heavy corsa!

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
