Just curious, has anyone attempted or bought an Xbox 360 that has had its casing opened and warrenty sticker broken or removed and sent it to Microshaft for repair of RRoD and actually got it back repaired?
I have a RRoD'd Xbox that I haven't managed to repair and the previous owner damaged the back of the casing opening it up and removed the warrenty sticker.
Any chance I'll get lucky and they'll repair it or sent me another one back?

You can actually buy those stickers off ebay, just buy one stick it on and send it back, I know people who have done it.

Them stickers are a tenner for one!
And like I said, the previous owner really butchered the back of the casing so its obvious its been opened.
Has anyone here been succesful without a warrenty sticker, thats all I wanna know.

More than likely no if theres any sign of opening/tampering/modding then they will just send it back to you and say gtf, unless you can borrow or buy a case/sticker not much you can do.

Damn. I've always wondered how they do it. Do they repair and send you back the very same console or do they just chuck it to one side and send you one thats already been repaired.

Yes, Microsoft will probably repair a console that's been opened and internally modded.

As I said in OP, I've tried everything, even the oven bake trick. I think I know what the problem is but I don't have the resources nor the monies to get it fixed.

I would imagine you could get a few quid for your old broken console on ebay, there always seem to be a few on there.
better than binning it!
