My annual appraisal has just been finalised by personnel and my boss has quietly told me in my ear that I have been logged for progression. Great, but here goes. The job they are considering me for is more interesting and demanding but it also means that I will become the Line Manager for my 'current' same grade colleague who I don't really get on with.

He will be very jealous that I have got progression and he hasn't but when he finds out I will be his manager I don't know how he will react.
