I suspect i have an issue with the CTS in my x14xe. I was bidding on one on ebay but lost and there are no others that are cheap avaliable. Could i attempt to take the CTS off my car and clean it up? Would that help at all?
Also when taking the CTS off is loads of coolant going to go everywhere?
Ive already tried getting it off but couldnt figure out how to unclip the cable!! Any help here?

It bolts into the thermostat housing on the X14 and X16 engines - it's the larger of the two sensors in there, the one nearest the radiators.
It just has a clip on it for the wiring, like most of the other sensors on the engine - it's a tab to release from the clip on the body of the sensor. It's also a 19mm spanner to undo it.
It will leak about 500ml of coolant when you take it out, so it may be worth putting a jug nearby to catch it, just so you can put it back in (if it's clean anyway!)
Finally, I bought one brand new from Vauxhall on Thursday, and it cost £13.85 + VAT (£16.87 IIRC).
Hope that helps! Tom
