Right, bloody car!As some of you may remember, the car had a bit of a problem the other week, i've not been down to the garage to sort it yet, but i have some questions, bit of history if anyone missed the original post...
Spent years building the xe corsa up, on and off, finally get her on the road, and i have a problem, once warm the car was cutting out at junctions.
I thought it was just a niggle, something that would sort itself out, or i would figure it out.
Then the oil light started flickering on when warm at junctions, and cutting out, i was getting worried now.
Then i was tootling down the road at 80ish, oil light flickered on, first time it had happened when the car was moving, so i pulled over.
taptaptaptaptap.
balls.
Got it back to the garage, took the 24mm nut off the pump, valve was stuck solid. Had to take the spring out, put the nut back & fire her up so the valve would pop out.
I've cleaned & sanded the valve down, but it just doesnt seem to move smoothly.
I now have the task of pulling the sump off & inspecting the shells, i'm just hoping i caught it before it damaged the crank. Now it rattles a bit when you start it up from cold, but only for a few seconds, so fingers crossed, though i'm not driving it at the minute.
So, i've been told a sbd nylon relief valve should stop this from happening, and i've look on the site, 50quid? i know if it fixes the problem it will save money if it dies, but 50quid, for a little nylon bung? jesus!
So, does anyone else sell them, and is there anything else i should / could do while i'm doing this?
Cheers.

How many washers did you use, and have you had to adjust the amount at all?
I'm guessing you have a pressure gauge, is it eratic, or fairly stable?
