ok so my car doesnt have an alarm, or any type of fob, and as far as i can tell the keys dont have any type of chips in them im thinking someone has changed the lock set and ecu at some point

your key does have a chip in it, it dosent need any type of fob it is for the factory fitted alarm/imobaliser.

Sport will have alarm. When the car is deadlocked the alarm is armed. Can see a red LED by the hazard switch iirc

there will also be what looks like a horn in the bulkhead by the brake master cylinder
