I just use 10 40 semi synthetic in mine, and all of the cars i have had. Never done (most) of them any harm!

Everything of mine gets Halfords oil, usuallty with free screwdrivers and trade card discount.

you shouldnt be able to get both... normally one or the other.
The halfords stuff is not bad oil, but it doesnt come anywhere near the likes of Millers, who really do make the best oil!

GM 5w30 is about a tenner for 5l trade, not sure what it is retail.
It's also the correct stuff for the engine.

My Punto is supposed to have 5w40 fully synthetic in it. Couldn't find a 1litre bottle anywhere apart from Halfords own so got that to top up.

Do explain, why is Millers oil better than Halfords.. SImply because it costs more?

Using cheaper oil doesn't mean you'll suddenly chuck a rod but your engine will deteriorate far quicker.
