Its not too difficult to get hold of a 1.6 16v (C16XE) with the box and loom with it, I paid £150 for one with the ECU, F16 gearbox and the C16XE. If you still want to put a 1.6 16v into your car you will need : obviously the engine etc.., uprated hubs and drive shafts from a 1.6 sport or gsi, throttle cable off a 1.6 16v, screw on fuel lines off a 1.4 sport (for example), you may also need to get a different fan belt depending upon whether or not your car has power steering. My 1.2 8v didnt have PS so i brought a micro-v fx belt.

TBH for all the hard work that it would be to fit a 16v it is worth it, not too much of a ball ache when compared to the overall advantages of the 16v engine: power gains and possible modifications.

Didnt mean to write an essay lol, but is always nice to share experience.

Hope it helps
