took the car up the garage earlier thought the power steering pump or alternator was broke. bloke just phoned me said the tensioner on the timing belt is broke and £130.00 bill to go with it is that price normal cause i thiught it was a bit steep.

Was it making a noise, IF it is the timing belt tensioner, then yeah that price is for a full cambelt kit, which is what it needs.

tbh, be thankfull that the belt hasn't snapped at its a £100 bill.
If the belt snapped, say goodbye to 8, possibly 16 valves, damaged pistons, possible wrecked cams, head etc....
Missis had bent 8 valves when hers snapped and that was a £1500+ repair bill.

when i did the belt on my old corsa sport im sure i got the timing belt and tensioner from vauxhall for about £110 and fitted it myself so seems a good price mate
