Pics from Saturdays action day at castle combe. The one's where I'm on track were obviously not taken by me, hence the difference in quality

The right place at the right time and some very generous friends, plus the fact that I'm a god behind the wheel

Neither Golf is 'mine' I'll be driving the white one for the coming season though.

The season opener is at Brands GP circuit on 22/23 May.
Britcar 24hr is at Silverstone 1,2,3 Oct (there is also a VAG trophy race at Silverstone that weekend, so I'm going to be a busy boy haha!)

And yes JR, I'll be driving in the 24hr! Need to sort out my fitness before then, 2hr stints will be tiring!

Even being given a free seat, the season will still be expensive though. The ARDS test the other day was £295!.
The cost of the Britcar is astronomical, 12 tanks of fuel (BIG tank, 90l iirc), approximately a tyre an hour (at £250 a tyre), triple figure entrance fee, pit crew, etc etc....

Fantastic Pics as always Oli

The above black Golf's engine is Toast! A 1.8 20v T was purchased today to replace it. To cut a long story short it spun a bottom end bearing (due to incorrect length Rods) Its ruined a set of brand new forged Rods/Pistons and damaged the Head. doh!
