Somehow i have managed to get duplicate 'Videos' folders in Vista. Anything i put in one, appears in the other, if i delete one, they both dissapear. Restart the laptop they are both back.

apologies if you knows about computers but.....
Are you sure you haven't just created a shortcut to the videos folder? Will have a curly arrow in the corner if it's a shortcut?

It might be worth mentioning i had lots of sub folders in the 'Videos' folder so a guide on the net said to rename the directory from C:AshsComp/Users/Videos/Videos/Videos to C:AshsComp/Videos but the example was actually the pictures folder and so i accidentially renamed it C:AshsComp/Pictures and ended up with this
On a plus note, the numerous sub folders have now gone. Ive also moved all the content of the folders to the external HDD before i delete them too.

I've had this happen before. Checked the properties?

weird.
So you've moved all the contents, deleted the folders, then created a new video folder? And it's still got 2?

Yep properties show both locations as being the same.
Yeh the folders now contain nothing. But i want to put my content back in them but whatever i put in one, appears in the other and that will bug me

you cant delete them both then create a new folder without it duplicating then? Shift+del will permanently delete instead of recycle, try that?

If i delete one avoiding recycle bin, the other one goes anyway. Then when i restart the laptop...they're back
I've ended up doing a system restore to yesterday...everything looks fine now.
