I'm a year into a 2 year contract with orange. I pay £40 a month for 600mins unlimited txts and 500mb internet. (Rip Off I know)

What I want to know is if I went to o2 for the HTC Desire with 600 mins unlimited txts and 500mb, whats the chance of them buying out my orange contract?

No chance, if your lucky and can drop your contract down you may be able to get some kind of cashback offer for the new contract

For that contract on O2 though they'll want £35 a month and some money for the phone

They may buy you out in ghetto sense that they pay it off now and add what they have paid to your monthly bill so you will end up with a similar deal. Plus desire so popular ppl will pay full price so don't expect favours

O2 direct maybe but i I'm paying 25 a month 300 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited web (fup) and only paid 9.99 for the phone

You need to go through phones4u or carphone warehouse rather than direct with O2 though they'll only do it if you've got a few months or less left on your contract. Worth a shot though.
