right, i bought a Cliosport 172 couple of weeks ago, but recently is has been failing to start first time! the engine rattles a good bit when idling, and tonight i tried to drive it, but it felt as if there was no accelerator. i turned it off, then back on, and it was revving itself upto 3000 revs, then died again, anyone have any ideas, any help much appreciated !

throttle position sensor, or throttle potentionmeter i think it is, on the pedal!

surely that wouldnt explain the engine rattling when idling, or it dying on me?

Define rattling? Does it sound tappety or like a knock?

the whole engine rattles a tad violently when idling aswell

yes mate, oils fine, all fluids are fine
