I've been looking at a few last minute holiday deals to treat my GF for her birthday at the end of this month/early next month. Her passport expired last month - but application is underway for another one, however according to the Resort information for Turkey/Spain/Cyprus/Portugal - you can only go if your passport has been valid for X months, X being a minimum of three
Any ideas what short-haul holiday destinations would let us in? If any?

Yeah it's a shame really, been a bit of a mad rush between myself and her mum to get the passport renewal done on the sly, as wanted to surprise her!
No Major drama though, can go somewhere around November time if needed, but would be a shame not to be able to spring something mega last minute on her.

nah mate you've got this wrong. you can only go if you have a min of 3 month left. once you have a new one its fine as there's more than 3 month left.

Was that with the Fast-track service?
As I'll be booking last minute, I'm not too concerned as I won't be committed to anything until a few days before leaving, and I can re-alocate the holiday time at work - but the UK Passport website says to allow for four weeks including postage, but I've heard a few reports of it being done and dusted within a week.
I'd pay for the fast track service, though it has to be done in person at a passport office - and the closest one to me is almost 100 miles away!
