found a plate i actually like thats not too much money or replace the standard stereo in the car for an aftermarket one?

If it's a private plate you can space legally then go for that.

Replace the stereo tbh. For the money you'd spend on a plate you could get a moderately good MP3 CD radio and some decent speakers for the front.

I have no idea what I'd have on a private plate

If it's plate that means something to you then get it, if it's to go with the car then I wouldn't bother.

stereo - once you've stuck your plate on there is nothing more to do. at least with a stereo you will have something to use every time you drive. although it can be a pain in the shitter as you'll have a daft radio box to carry around with you.
